  1. you have put multiple of the answers wrong as seen in the questions:-
Deer can run very fast for they are very active and have nimble feet–> this should be a compound sentence as there are two independent clauses which are- “deer can run very fast” and “they are very active and nimble.”
questions like “People who are quarrelsome cannot be happy.”, has given the answer as a compound which is actually a complex sentence due to the subordinate conjunction- “who”.
in the same way, even the question “I agree with you for it is made for the welfare of the society.” has been given a wrong answer.

  2. “People ran out after hearing the sound.” This should be a complex sentence as there is one independent clause and there’s a subordinater ‘after’ and then a dependant clause.

    • Mr. Karim,
A complex sentence contains two or more than two finite verbs. Here in the sentence, you mentioned, there is only one finite verb “ran”. Hearing is a non-finite verb. If a sentence has only one finite verb, that is a simple sentence.

  3. Exercise 2 No. 10
He finished his home assignment and went to play. Compound Sentence

This should be a simple sentence. Though there are two verbs, there is only one subject which is ‘He'(subject of the verb ‘went’ is ‘He’ too). For a sentence to become a compound sentence there should be two independent clauses but not just two verbs.
